Remember when

December 21, 2019 ·

Remember when Adam Schiff had hard evidence of Trump Russia collusion? We remember. Where did he put it? Nowhere – it doesn’t exist.

Why would the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee claim that the President colluded with a foreign government to steal the electrion? Our take: partisan hacksmanship, perhaps a result of puppetry.

Now we’ve moved on to “Obstruction of Congress” whatever that means and Abuse of Power.

Let’s discuss obstruction of congress. The House issued subpoenas to the White House for a variety of *things* and when the President sought judicial review to address their legitimacy, the House decided that constituted “Obstruction”. Since the Constitution requires that subpoenas serve a legitimate purpose, I’m surprised. Is the President a US Citizen? Is the President protected by the constitution? I would assume so, but maybe I’m wrong. Obama did the same thing, but the press seems to think the Republican vs Democrat affiliation of the person in the office creates nuance.

In the Democrats world, concerns about taxpayer dollars going to a corrupt regime is an abuse of power, even if that regime is fighting an adversary. In the Democrats world, the Constitution does not protect you if you’re a political rival. The Democrats shred the constitution with speech codes, harassment campaigns, and violence. Now they are targeting due process rights. Don’t fall for it.

Civics 101

December 20, 2019 ·

Since so many of my peers don’t understand what the Constitution actually says, I decided to provide a quick primer.

The Constitution states the powers that the federal government has, and lists (or enumerates) certain rights that the people have. The federal government has the obligation to defend or otherwise guarantee those rights. These are listed in the Bill or Rights. Lets review them:

The First Amendment protects speech, association and religion. In other words, one may worship any god, join any organization, and write or say anything they please. This includes the right to criticize politicians, businesses, or other organizations.

The Second Amendment protects the right of the people to defend themselves by owning firearms at par with those owned by the government.

The Third Amendment bars the government from forcing the people to provide free room and board to the military in their own homes. This was common practice leading up to the Revolution.

The Fourth Amendment prevents unreasonable search and seizure of private property, except when a warrant requiring “probable cause” is issued.

The Fifth Amendment establishes due process rights and prevents the government from trying an accused multiple times for the same crime.

The Sixth Amendment requires a speedy and public trial and establishes the right to have a jury of peers hear the case. It also requires that witnesses testify and guarantees that the accused has the right to question those witnesses, as well as be represented by a lawyer.

The Seventh Amendment preserves the right to a jury trial in matters of civil law, such as lawsuits between two parties.

The Eighth Amendment prevents the government from requiring excessive fines or bail (relative to the crime) and prevents cruel and unusual punishment. The Supreme Court recently applied the Eighth Amendment to prevent civil asset forfeiture.

The Ninth Amendment guarantees that the people have rights not explicitly enumerated in the constitution.

The Tenth Amendment reserves all powers not delegated to the federal government to the states. This means that education, health care, social programming, university funding, parks and the like are reserved for the states, not the feds.

The Constitution exists to protect the rights of the people by restricting the powers of the government. That was a very radical thing to do – at the time of the revolution, people were viewed as subjects to be ruled by kings and queens and subject to their whims. The United States created a system where individual rights were placed first and guaranteed.

That’s why it matters.

How do we know impeachment is a sham

December 20, 2019 ·

Yesterday House Democrats fulfilled their 3 year goal and impeached a president who reduced unemployment, boosted the economy, and helped push the stock market to previously unbelievable highs.  On what basis did this impeachment happen? The most reliable evidence of all: hearsay.  As the AP reports, no witnesses offered direct testimony or evidence of a quid pro quo.  [Link]

The Wall Street Journal published an opinion piece by Daniel Hoffman, former CIA station chief in the Soviet Union, where he explains that the current Russian interest is in disrupting the politics and institutions of its adversaries with a blend of misinformation.  [Link]

The Russia collusion narrative was a total hoax after all [Link 1] [Link 2]

In his farewell address, George Washington warned us that unity among the states was the key to American freedom and prosperity, and that enemies from abroad would seek to disrupt that unity.  He also warned us that political factionalism would result in the takings of freedom from the people:

“They serve to organize faction, to give it an artificial and extraordinary force; to put, in the place of the delegated will of the nation the will of a party, often a small but artful and enterprising minority of the community; and, according to the alternate triumphs of different parties, to make the public administration the mirror of the ill-concerted and incongruous projects of faction, rather than the organ of consistent and wholesome plans digested by common counsels and modified by mutual interests.”

Go read it for yourself. [Link]

Are the democrats representing Americans, or the chaotic interests of Russia? Political gamesmanship lead to an unprecedented rebuke of the FBI by the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court [Link]

Americans looked past the flaws of 45 and elected him anyway.  The Democrats think they know better.  I think they are wrong. The impeachment of 45 is based on hearsay evidence, has no basis in fact, and is only continuing to divide us as Americans. Just as Russia intended.

While I’m generally politically indifferent, the events of the last 2 years culminating in the impeachment of President Trump have convinced me to speak out in my own way. That’s what this website is all about.
